TRAFFIC LANE AT CGES REMINDER

Posted Date: 02/23/26 (09:07 AM)

Attention Families,

We want to share an important safety reminder regarding our morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up procedures at Council Grove Elementary.

The traffic lane around CGES is a single-lane, one-way route. It is critical that all drivers remain in line and wait their turn to pull forward before students exit or enter vehicles. Last week, a student was nearly struck when a driver pulled out of the line and passed vehicles that were waiting — at the exact moment a child was stepping out of a car.

We understand that mornings are busy and time is short. We ask for your patience and cooperation so that every child arrives and departs safely. The few extra minutes spent in line are worth it.

Please remember:

  • Stay in line — do not pass other vehicles in the drop-off lane
  • Wait until you have pulled fully forward before allowing students to exit or enter your vehicle
  • Be alert — children can be unpredictable and hard to see

The safety of our students depends on all of us working together. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us protect our kids every single day.

Thank You

Tyson Eslinger
