Purple Up! April 15th is Military Kids Day

Posted Date: 04/12/26 (09:00 AM)

Purple Up! Wednesday, April 15th is Military Kids Day.
Governor Kelly declared April as the Month of the Military Child. To honor this, we invite everyone to wear purple on Wednesday, April 15, for Kansas’ “Purple Up! For Military Kids” day. Wearing purple is a way to show support and appreciate military kids for their strength and sacrifices.
Purple represents all branches of the military. It combines Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red, Navy blue, and Space Force blue. In Kansas, about 12,200 children have at least one parent serving in the active-duty, reserve, or guard forces.
